Mercedes Fuel Injection - Auto Repair Codes

The information below may apply to Mercedes E300, 500E, SL, SE, SEL & SEC and many other Mercedes models

Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed)

1 Drive vehicle until it reaches operating temperature.
2 Stop the vehicle, place it in park or neutral and turn ignition OFF.
3 Connect an LED tester or Voltmeter to terminals 'A' & 'B'.(Click here for details)
4 Connect a switch as shown on the diagram.(Click here for details)
5 The connector will be at the rear of the engine bay on the left or right side.
NOTE - Only one code can be accessed at a time, to get the next code close switch for 2 to 4 seconds
6 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

Code Format Description

Each flash codes is represented by straight count. Twenty flashes indicates the code "20".
Each flash lasts for 0.5 seconds, and there is a 1-second pause between each digit.
Count the number of flashes in each series, and record the code.
