Auto Repair Manual - How to read codes (No Special Tools Needed) 1 Warm the engine to operating temperature. 2 Make sure the diagnostic mode selector is turned fully anti-clockwise or the slide switch is OFF. 3 Turn the ignition on. 4 Gently turn the diagnostic mode selector fully clockwise for 2 seconds then turn it gently fully anti-clockwise. 5 The LED or Check Engine Light (CEL) should begin to flash. 6 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below. 7 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description. Connector Diagram Example Models: 300C, Centro, EXA * This Connector may also be used for other Nissan models

Code Format Description • Each code is made up of two series of flashes. • The long flashes indicate the 'tens' digits. • The short flashes indicate the 'ones' digits. • A long pause separates each code sequence. • Code Format Diagram shows code No. 12. • If no long flashes are detected, the code is a straight count of short flashes. Or... • Each code is made up of two series of flashes. • The long flashes indicate the 'hundreds' digit, however can be a value up to 13 (eg 13 flashes = Thirteen Hundred). • The short flashes indicate the 'ones' digit, however can a value up to 15. • A long pause separates each code sequence. • The top Code Format Diagram shows code No. 102. • The bottom Code Format Diagram shows code No. 111.
