1 If possible run the engine to bring the oxygen sensor up to operating temperature then switch the engine off.

2 Turn ignition ON and check that the LEDs on the cars ECU are alight.

3 Gently turn the diagnostic mode selector fully clockwise.

4 Run engine and let it idle.

5 Read codes on the ECU as described in the Code Format Description below

• Please Note: You will need to activate the systems shown by the codes (23, 24 and 31), while still in diagnostic mode, then re-read the codes. Any remaining codes are the valid ones.

6 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description(s).

• Each code is made up of two series of flashes.

• The long flashes indicate the 'tens' digits.

• The short flashes indicate the 'ones' digits.

• A long pause separates each code sequence.

• Code Format Diagram shows code No. 12.
